Three children have died in England after falling into a lake when ice broke and a fourth remains hospitalized as a result of severe weather conditions across much of the UK.
Rescuers pulled the boys, aged 8, 10 and 11, from the icy waters in Solihull, near Birmingham, on Sunday afternoon and took them to a hospital in central England, some 100 miles north of London, but it was not possible to revive them. after suffering cardiac arrest.
The fourth child, aged 6, remains in critical condition and members of the emergency team searched overnight for two other children who were allegedly with the group.

“We know the forecast for the next few days will be very cold,” said Richard Stanton, commander of the West Midlands Fire and Rescue Service.
