It is “like a baseball card”, but “much more exciting” and for 99 dollars (about 93 euros) a piece, Donald Trump said in Truth Social, the social network he created after being expelled from Twitter.
This collection of “Donald Trump digital cards” is based on a pattern well known to sports fans.
On Wednesday, the Republican had posted a cryptic message: “America needs a superhero. I’ll make a big announcement tomorrow.”
The cartoons will be “great artistic creations about my life and my career,” promises the Republican billionaire, who is going through a difficult political moment.
Trump published an image that shows him drawn as a muscular superhero from “comics”, the iconic American comics.
His figure has hands on hips and is in a boxing ring, wearing a belt that reads “Trump Champion” against the background of the American flag.
“Only $99 each! Great Christmas gift idea! Hurry up! I think they go pretty fast,” the former president said.
Some of the cards will come with gifts, such as dinner at his luxurious Florida residence or an hour of golf with an entrepreneur.
The announcement seems to reinforce the idea that Donald Trump’s campaign did not really take off as he hoped.
Though he has had near-total control over the Republican Party up to now, some top figures are beginning to publicly criticize him for pushing candidates too hard in November’s midterm elections.
The right has failed to deal the Democratic Party and President Joe Biden the slap it was hoping for in this election, which has to do with federal seats in Congress as well as governorships.
Recent polls also show that Donald Trump currently trails Florida Governor Ron DeSantis in the heart of the Republicans.
