Giant aquarium with 1,500 fish bursts in Berlin

A huge aquarium with 1,500 fish in central Berlin exploded on Friday, causing a wave of devastation in and around the Sea Life tourist attraction, German police said.

Police spokesman Martin Stralau said officers were alerted to a leak at the aquarium.

The same source said the incident resulted in a minor injury.

The possibility that cold temperatures contributed to the incident was being considered, but Martin Stralau said the causes were still being investigated.

According to those responsible, the aquarium has the largest cylindrical tank in the world and had 1,500 tropical fish, making it one of the main tourist attractions in Berlin.
