Survey puts PM’s party ahead of Swedish election

Swedish Prime Minister Magdalena Andersson’s Social Democratic Party (S) won the most votes in Sunday’s parliamentary elections with 29.3% of the vote, according to a poll by Swedish public television STV.

The far-right Sweden Democrats (SD) came in second with 20.5% of the vote, while the Moderate Party got 18.8%, according to the poll.

The Social Democrats would improve their results by one point compared to the last elections, while the Swedish Democrats would increase by three points and the moderates would drop by one point.

In fourth place is the Center Party (7.7%), followed by the Left Party (7%), the Green Party (5.8%), the Christian Democratic Party of Sweden (5.2%) and the Liberal Party of Sweden (4.7%). ).

On this basis, a possible center-left coalition would have obtained 49.8% of the vote, while the right-wing option would have obtained 49.2%.

In terms of mandates, the center-left would win 176 seats and the right 173, according to the STV projection.

Deaths in settling scores between criminal gangs -which has become a serious social problem- lead the concerns of the Swedes, followed by health and immigration, issues that favored the rise of the nationalist and anti-immigration Swedish Democrats party, until a few years ago isolated in the political scene of the Scandinavian country.
