There is no let up before the transition to the new year. New explosions were heard in the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv, and in the rest of the country this Saturday, New Year’s Eve and more than ten months after the start of the conflict.
At least one person was killed and several were injured according to an initial report, given by the mayor of Kyiv.
The sirens sounded throughout the country, a sign of protection of the population, given the risk of new Russian attacks.
An “inevitable” Russian victory, according to Moscow
Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu also considered in his wishes to the military for the new year that their victory in Ukraine was “inevitable”, after a year 2022 marked by “serious challenges”.
“Our victory, like the new year, is inevitable,” he said.
