The last week of 2022 may reflect the turmoil that marked the entire year. In recent days, the world said goodbye to Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI or Pelé, and national news was surprised by the controversy that shook the government, and which caused four casualties in the Executive headed by António Costa. But there are other milestones that 2022 brought with it.
The journey for the year now ending begins in February. The sirens that since February 24 sounded throughout Ukraine announcing the return of war to Europe. The passing of the year also highlights the other international events that marked the last twelve months, takes stock of Portuguese political life -with emphasis on the return of the absolute majority- and also looks at the year of sport, which ends with the confirmation of that Cristiano Ronaldo’s future will pass through Saudi Arabia.
