The year 2023 will be the year of “victory” in the war against Russia, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky proclaimed this Saturday in his New Year greetings.
“Do you long for faith and hope? Both have been in the (Ukrainian) armed forces for a long time (…) Do you long for the light? It is in all of us, even when there is no electricity”, the supply of which is severely interrupted by the massive Russian bombings, in particular, said Volodymyr Zelensky in his Telegram message.
“Work”, “struggle” and “mutual aid”
“Happy New Year! The year of our victory”, he concluded, just over ten months after the outbreak of the invasion of his country by Russia, on February 24, 2022, calling on his compatriots to “work”, to “fight” and “mutual aid”.
Russian President Vladimir Putin, for his part, claimed for his New Year greetings on Saturday that “moral and historical correctness” was “on the side” of Russia.
