At least 45 drones were shot down by air defense systems, 32 of which over the kyiv region during the first dawn of the year, Ukrainian authorities announced. Russia has intensified bombardments not only in the capital, but throughout the territory, in a new massive attack against Ukraine.
In kyiv, a photo released by the capital’s police chief shows that one of the downed drones had written the message “Happy New Year Boom.” So far, the Ukrainian authorities have not reported any casualties, although the remains have affected residential areas.
In Kherson, a children’s hospital was bombed on Saturday, according to a former presidential spokeswoman. Iuliia Mendel said that no one was hurt.
In the New Year’s message, President Volodymyr Zelensky left a message of hope to the people of Ukraine, assuring that the only way out of the war, which began on February 24 by Putin’s order, will be victory over the Russian forces.
