Rumors continue about the state of health of the Russian president. In an interview broadcast this Wednesday by the American television channel ABC, Kyrylo Budanov, director of Ukrainian military intelligence, assures that Vladimir Putin is “dying”.
“It will die very quickly, I think, I hope,” he adds.
“We think it’s cancer,” says Budanov, who says he gets his information from “human sources.” “This war should end before he dies,” he said, however.
This high-ranking officer, who took over as head of Ukrainian intelligence in 2020, was recently accused by the FSB of being one of the men behind the Crimean bridge attack that took place last October.
If nothing has ever been officially communicated about a possible illness of the Russian president, rumors about his state of health abound. Rumors that remain unverifiable, even more so in the context of the conflict in Ukraine, which is giving rise to a real communication war between Kyiv and Moscow.
Rumors denied so far
However, CIA director William Burns claimed in July that Vladimir Putin he is “totally too healthy”, dismissing rumors that his condition is worsening.
“What we can say is that he is too healthy,” he replied after being asked about the state of health of the Russian president.
In May, the Russian Foreign Minister himself denied these rumors in a press release: “I do not believe that anyone with all their senses can see in this person (Putin) the signs of any illness or disease.”
