Jorge, an immigrant who lives near San Francisco, tells TSF who was caught off guard when he tried to go shopping before the storm started.
“I went to the market and it was a surprise to see so many people in the market, the shelves were all empty. Then I thought: ‘wow, it looks like the end of the world’. Yesterday’s news announced that the weather was going to be very bad, with storm and a lot of rain, so, to avoid panic, people took the opportunity to buy yesterday and not go out today,” he explained.
At the request of the authorities, Jorge did not leave the house. The storm is already being felt in California, although “further inland” of the region. Jorge affirms that he “has rained a lot”. “The storm is so strong that it can flood the streets and cause accidents, that’s why I didn’t go out.”
