Is Vladimir Putin Increasingly Isolating Himself? While the Ukrainian army announces significant advances in the east of the country – several towns, including Izium, have been retaken from the Russians – Ramzan Kadyrov, the sulphurous leader of Chechnya appointed by the Kremlin, has launched strong criticism of the military strategy used by the Russian president.
“It’s a very interesting situation”
“They made mistakes and I think they will draw the necessary conclusions,” he said in a message posted on his Telegram channel, translated by the guardian.
“If no change in strategy is made today or tomorrow, I will be forced to talk to the leaders of the Ministry of Defense and the leaders of the country to explain the real situation on the ground. It is very interesting. It’s unbelievable, I would say,” warned Ramzan Kadyrov, who is a longtime Putin ally.
Since the beginning of what is still called a “special military operation” in Moscow, official dissenting voices have become very rare. The Chechen leader, who sent several of his troops and reportedly went himself to Ukrainian territory, is an exception and is one of the rare examples of political figures who are not completely muzzled by the Kremlin.
To this statement, it is worth adding the various criticisms from military bloggers who have targeted Vladimir Putin in the last few hours. While his army experiences bitter failures on Ukrainian territory, the Russian president inaugurated a Ferris wheel in the streets of the capital, as part of Moscow Day.
