At least 17 people were killed and 22 injured in a traffic accident in China’s Jiangxi province on Sunday, state media reported.
“The accident killed 17 people, 22 people were injured, the injured were sent to hospital,” CCTV television reported, citing local authorities, adding that “the cause of the accident is being fully investigated.”
Traffic accidents are common in China due to the lack of strict safety controls. Last month, one person was killed in a pile-up on a highway in China involving hundreds of vehicles and caused by poor visibility due to fog.
In September, 27 passengers died in an accident involving a bus taking them to a quarantine center in Guizhou province.
