The Single Federation of Petroleum Workers (FUP) warned today about possible attacks on the refineries of the Brazilian oil company Petrobras, after the invasions of the headquarters of the three powers in Brasilia by supporters of former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro.

“These possible acts could endanger the assets of Petrobras, the physical integrity of the workers of these units, as well as the environment of those assets and compromise the fuel supply to the population,” warns the FUP.

“In this sense, we understand that it is essential that the company prepare and activate all the necessary means to guarantee the safety of the workers and the company’s productive units and the supply of the markets,” he added, recalling the circulation of messages . on social networks in which protesters indicate that they want to stop the supply of fuel to the population.

Bolsonaro supporters are mobilizing, through social media, attacks on Petrobras refineries across the country.

In a statement, the Minister of Mines and Energy, Alexandre Silveira, indicated that, “together with the related entities, it has guaranteed the normality of the national fuel supply and the proper functioning of the refineries, terminals and distribution bases.”

Silveira promised to closely monitor the situation of the protests in these infrastructures and guarantee the supply of fuel.

The president of the Workers’ Party also accused the protesters of having blocked access to the Presidente Getúlio Vargas Refinery (Repar) in Araucária, Curitiba, in the state of Paraná (south), pointing to videos posted on social networks.
