At least six injured after knife attack in Paris

At least six people were injured after a knife attack at the Gare du Nord in Paris.

The suspect was shot by the police and wounded, according to the authorities quoted by Agence France-Press.

Rail traffic is restricted and a security perimeter has been opened, forcing part of the station to be evacuated.

French Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin will visit the site this morning. On Twitter, he thanked the security forces for their “effective and courageous reaction.”
