“We are very disappointed by the French political line in this conflict.” The Russian Embassy in France, through its spokesman Alexander Makogonov, said Wednesday night on BFMTV that it “could not consider France a friendly country” since the start of the war in Ukraine.
“If we judge by the political lines of France and the decisions taken by the officials, we cannot consider France as a friendly country,” the Russian diplomat told 22h Max.
Judging the relationship between Paris and Moscow as “very different” from those maintained during the 2010s, Alexander Makogonov deplored this development after “three centuries of absolutely extraordinary relations.”
“I cannot call France an enemy”
“France (which) provides the weapons and now the tanks to kill the Russians,” the Russian embassy spokesman continued.
If you evoke “very deep resentment”, Alexander Makogonov “does not want and cannot” call France an enemy, it is impossible.
