Lisa Marie Presley, the only daughter of singer and actor Elvis Presley, has died at the age of 54, a few hours after being hospitalized for cardiorespiratory arrest, the singer’s mother reported.
“It is with a heavy heart that I have to share the devastating news that my beautiful daughter Lisa Marie has left us,” Priscilla Presley said Thursday.
“She was the most passionate, strong and loving woman I have ever met,” he added in a statement.
Lisa Marie Presley had to be revived at her home in Calabasas, California, by paramedics, two days after attending the Golden Globes, the US press advances.
Prehospital rescue professionals performed cardiorespiratory resuscitation and managed to recover Presley’s pulse before transferring her to a hospital in Los Angeles, TMZ reported, a portal specializing in North American entertainment, adding that Presley had been placed in an artificial coma, on life support.
On Tuesday, Lisa Marie Presley had been with Priscilla and the team from the movie ‘Elvis’, at The Beverly Hilton (Beverly Hills), at the 80th Golden Globes gala, which distinguished the best professionals and film productions and the television of 2022.
Actor Austin Butler was one of the night’s winners for his role as Elvis Presley in the film directed by Baz Luhrmann.
Lisa Marie Presley was the mother of four children, including American actress and filmmaker Riley Keough, and was married four times, including to the late singer Michael Jackson and actor Nicholas Cage.
Presley followed in his father’s footsteps and in 2003 released his first album, “To Whom it May Concern”, followed by two more albums, the last of which was in 2012.
Lisa Marie Presley was Elvis’ sole heir and controlled her father’s estate until 2005, when she sold a minority stake in Elvis’ intellectual property to an investment firm.
Lisa Marie Presley retained control of her father’s famous estate, Graceland, in Memphis, Tennessee, in the southern United States.
