Former Brazilian Justice Minister Anderson Torres was arrested this Saturday at the Brasilia airport. The former president was returning from Miami, in the United States, and Federal Police agents were waiting for him at the airport.
Judge Alexandre de Moraes had ordered the preventive detention of Anderson Torres, due to strong suspicions that, as Secretary of Public Security of the Federal District, he had helped facilitate the action of the protesters who, last Sunday, invaded the headquarters of Congress. Planalto Palace and Supreme Court of Justice.
In the raids carried out by the federal authorities in the house of Anderson Torres, a draft was discovered that tried to annul the electoral result in the presidential elections in Brazil, which gave Lula da Silva the victory over the then president, Jair Bolsonaro.
Meanwhile, the Supreme Federal Court of Brazil (STF) authorized the inclusion of Jair Bolsonaro in its investigation into attacks by supporters of the former president on the three powers, after the request made by the Attorney General’s Office.
According to the court document, Judge Alexandre de Moraes accepted the request of the Public Ministry on Friday, which cited a video posted by Bolsonaro on the Facebook social network two days after the riot.
