The Ukrainian Prime Minister announced Wednesday that a commission will be created to investigate the causes of a helicopter crash near a kindergarten in kyiv, Ukraine, which killed at least 18 people, including three children and the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.
“A great loss for the government team and for the entire State. My sincere condolences to the families of all the victims. I have given instructions to immediately create a special group to investigate in detail all the circumstances of the tragedy,” wrote Denys Shmygal. on the social network Telegram.
The helicopter was traveling to the front lines in eastern Ukraine and crashed as it passed near a kindergarten.
“The purpose of the helicopter flight was to carry out work in one of the regions of our country where hostilities continue. The Interior Minister was heading there,” said the deputy head of the Ukrainian presidential office, Kyrylo Tymoshenko.
At least 18 people, including three children, were killed when a helicopter crashed near a kindergarten and a residential building in kyiv, Ukraine. Among the victims is also the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.
The helicopter belonged to the Ukrainian Emergency Services and was carrying nine people.
According to authorities, 29 people were hospitalized in an emergency, including 15 children.
