The head of European diplomacy, Josep Borrell, judged this Thursday “unacceptable and despicable” the reference to the Holocaust made by Moscow to denounce the support of Western countries for Ukraine and “justify their illegal aggression” against this country.
“The latest comments by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, accusing the ‘West’ of seeking a ‘final solution’ for Russia, are totally misplaced, disrespectful and trample on the memory of the six million Jews and other victims, who were systematically murdered during the Holocaust,” he accused in a statement.
“Truth Manipulation”
The task of the coalition formed by the United States is “the ‘final solution’ of the Russian question. Just as Hitler wanted to solve the Jewish question, now Western leaders (…) say unambiguously that Russia must undergo a strategic process defeat,” the head of Russian diplomacy said during a press conference on Wednesday.
“The manipulation of the truth by the Russian regime to justify its illegal war of aggression against Ukraine has reached another unacceptable and despicable low point,” protested Josep Borrell, a Spanish national.
“There is no parallel between the crimes of Nazi Germany and international aid to Ukraine to defend its territory and its people against unjustified aggression. Russia invaded a neighboring sovereign country, attacked it, and killed civilians there on a daily basis, with the stated goal of of destroying the country and the Ukrainian nation,” said the EU foreign minister.
