Mafia boss Matteo Messina Denaro is in a maximum security prison in the Italian city of L’Aquila after being arrested in Palermo on Monday on his way to a medical clinic.

Meanwhile, the detectives’ attention turns to the files that the mafia boss kept meticulously with notes and some accounts that, according to the Italian media, estimate Messina Denaro’s monthly expenses at almost 10,000 euros.

According to the Italian media, these folders contain names, surnames, telephone numbers and numbers that could hide pseudonyms and apparent accounts.

After the discovery of the first shelter, a second house was found on Wednesday in which Messina Denaro would have lived on Calle Maggiore Toselli, about a kilometer from the first house, and where they discovered a room hidden behind a cupboard and in which jewelry or precious stones were found.

A third house, also in that small town of 11,000 inhabitants in the province of Trapani, was discovered today and is less than 200 meters from the first. Completely empty, Messina Denaro seems to have lived there until last June, when he decided to move to another house for unknown reasons.

The first house belonged to Andrea Bonafede, known since childhood by Matteo Messina Denaro, the name used by the “capo” in his documents when he was captured near the La Maddalena clinic in Palermo, where he received treatment for would undergo colon cancer. .
