The images of the attack on Paul Pelosi, the husband of Nancy Pelosi, were made public this Friday and were disseminated by various US media, including NBC News. The on-board camera of one of the police officers deployed on the scene allows you to see and hear his arrival at the couple’s home. One of them knocks on the door. A few seconds later, the door opens and Paul Pelosi appears in his underwear next to an individual. This is David DePape, a 42-year-old Canadian. In the footage, the Speaker’s husband appears to be holding a hammer held by David DePape in his right hand.
– “Good night to you”, launches Paul Pelosi.
– “How are you? What’s going on?” asks a policeman.
– “Everything is fine,” responds David DePape.

“Drop That Hammer”
The police then light up the two men and one of them throws David DePape – “drop that hammer”. “No,” replies David DePape, who at the same time tries to wrest Paul Pelosi’s hand away. The latter removes it, and immediately David DePape begins to hit him with a hammer, which the camera failed to register.
The police immediately enter the house, intervene and arrest David DePape within seconds. They all end up on the ground. The onboard camera continues to rotate and then shows the limp body of Paul Pelosi, probably unconscious. “Send reinforcements,” one of the policemen said at the police call center.
“Give me your fucking hand! Give me your fucking hand!” One of the policemen throws, handcuffed, at David DePape.

CCTV footage of Pelosis’s home was also released on Friday. David DePape can be seen carrying several bags and setting them down, pulls out a hammer and gloves. He is then seen smashing his hammer and then going into the house.
According to US authorities, the Canadian’s goal was to kidnap the then-Speaker of the US House of Representatives. Indicted for, among other things, attempted murder, David DePape faces a sentence of up to life in prison.
