Moscow says 14 people died in Ukrainian attack on Lugansk hospital

The Russian defense ministry on Saturday accused the Ukrainian army of attacking a hospital in eastern Lugansk, killing 14 and injuring 24.

On Saturday morning, in the city of Novoaidar, “Ukrainian armed forces deliberately attacked the building of a district hospital with missiles from a US-made HIMARS multi-launch missile system,” the ministry said in a statement.

The ministry added that 14 people died and 24 were injured among “hospital patients and medical staff”.

He also said that the hospital has been providing “necessary medical assistance to the local population and the military” for several months.

“An intentional missile strike against a known active medical facility is undoubtedly a serious war crime by the Kiev regime,” the ministry added.
