At least three people were killed and four others injured in a shooting Saturday in Los Angeles, California, according to police reports.
Los Angeles Police Department Sergeant Frank Preciado confirmed that the shooting happened shortly after 2:30 a.m. (10:30 a.m. in Lisbon) in Beverly Crest, an upscale area of Los Angeles.
Of the seven people shot, whose identities were not released, the three who died – two men and a woman – were in a vehicle.
Police have not released any information about suspects or what might be behind this shooting, California’s fourth this month that left multiple victims.
In 2022, for the third consecutive year, the United States recorded more than 600 shootings that were considered massacres (killing or injuring at least four people), according to the Gun Violence Archive, according to the Gun Violence Archive.
According to the NGO Everytown For Gun Safety, an average of 40,000 people die each year in the United States from massacres, shootings, suicides and other gun-related events, which equates to more than 100 per day.
