Pope Francis urged this Sunday the leaders of Palestine, Israel and the international community to find “without delay” the path of dialogue to stop the “spiral of death” after the latest attacks in those territories.
“It is with great pain that I receive the news from the Holy Land, in particular of the death of 10 Palestinians, including a woman, killed during the Israeli anti-terrorist military actions in Palestine and of what happened near Jerusalem on Friday night, when seven Israeli Jews were killed by a Palestinian and three were injured as they left a synagogue,” Pope Francis said, quoted by the EFE news agency.
The Pope referred to the escalation of violence between Israelis and Palestinians at the end of the Angelus prayer, which he pronounces every Sunday before the faithful in Saint Peter’s Square, in the Vatican.
