The actress Annie Wersching, known for television series such as “24” or “Timeless” died this Sunday morning at the age of 45, a victim of cancer, after being diagnosed with the disease in 2020.
The actress’s death was confirmed today after people close to Wersching shared an online funding campaign on social media to support her family.
Wersching “was a reserved person by nature and the diagnosis made her even more reserved. She wanted to protect her children, she wanted to get better so she could continue working and, honestly, she didn’t want to talk about it. She wanted to live her life her way and be with her family,” reads the description on the GoFundme page.
Executive producer of the series “The Vampire Diaries” [“Diários do Vampiro”]Julie Plec – in which Wersching had a role – shared the campaign on Twitter and mourned the death of the actress: “Rest in peace Annie, you were a wonderful soul,” she wrote.
In a publication to local media, actor Stephen Full, Wersching’s husband, expressed his feelings for the loss: “Today there is a cavernous hole in the soul of this family. But she left us the tools to fill it.”
Annie Wersching was born in St. Louis, Missouri, United States, in 1977. She graduated in Fine Arts and began her career on “Star Trek: Enterprise.”
His career was broader on television, as he was part of series such as “Runaways”, “The Vampire Diaries”, “Bosch”, “General Hospital”, among others.
She played the role of FBI agent Renee Walker in the series “24” and voiced the character Tess in the video game “The Last of Us.”
The actress, whose type of cancer was diagnosed was not disclosed, leaves behind three children.
