Lisa Loring, the first Wednesday Addams, dies

Lisa Loring, the first Wednesday Addams from the 1960s series “The Addams Family,” has died at age 64 after a stroke. The news was confirmed by one of her daughters to Variety: “She died peacefully with both daughters holding hands.”

“Pretty, kind, a loving mother, Lisa’s legacy in the world of entertainment is enormous. Her legacy to family and friends – a wealth of humor, affection and love that will live on in our memories,” wrote a friend, Laurie Jacobson , On Facebook.

Lisa Loring debuted in the world of acting in an episode of “Dr. Kildare”, but it was her participation in “Wednesday Addams”, at just five years old, that marked her career. The sweet but dark character inspired Jenna Ortega, who once again brought the character and her celebrated dance, “The Drew,” to the fore with the Netflix series “Wednesday.”

The actress was born in 1958 in the Marshall Islands, having passed through Hawaii and Los Angeles. Lisa Loring has two daughters, Marianne and Vanessa Foumberg, from her marriage to Jerry Butler.

After two seasons of ‘The Addams Family’, the actress joined the comedy series ‘The Pruitts of Southampton’, to later make other appearances on television, such as ‘Uncle’s girl’, ‘Fantasy Island’ or ‘Barnaby Jones’.
