A four-year-old boy died in England on Tuesday after being attacked by a dog, multiple British media, including Sky News, reported.
The emergency services called police officers to intervene around 5:00 p.m. (6:00 p.m. in France) in Milton Keynes (Buckinghamshire), in the southeast of the country. They were informed that a dog had attacked a child in the garden of a property. The young woman died shortly after the events.
The animal killed “humanely”
The dog, whose breed was not disclosed, was shot dead by police officers for public safety reasons. There is no other victim to be sorry for and the family of the dead child is receiving psychological support. No arrests have yet been made by law enforcement.
Thames Valley Police Chief Matt Bullivant spoke of “an absolutely tragic incident” without disclosing the exact circumstances of the tragedy.
He also justified the murder of the dog involved “which was done humanely.”
