A man climbed a building on Monday to save two children from a burning building in Seville, Spain.
Jairo lives in the building and with the help of the children’s father, managed to get them out of the burning building. The father also managed to get out safely by jumping on a mattress that had been placed on the floor.
Speaking to Spanish radio Antena 3, Jairo said that as soon as he found out what was going on, he went to the scene. “There were people there, but nobody did anything,” he said.
According to the Europa news agency, the fire affected 15 people, including a man who suffered burns and broke a leg and four minors who became intoxicated from smoke inhalation.
The alarm was given at 6 p.m. on Monday after several people had warned of a fire in the home.
Local police, national police and fire brigade went to the scene of the fire. The mayor of Seville, Antonio Muñoz, also visited the site.
