Serbian deputy Zvonimir Stevic resigned on Tuesday after a video of him seeing pornographic content went viral during a parliamentary session, public broadcaster RTS reported.
The video shows Stevic watching pornography on his mobile phone during a tense parliamentary debate last week over a potential deal with Kosovo.
The ruling leader of the Serbian Progressive Party attacked Stevic for “watching a porn movie” during the session, marked by physical clashes between several lawmakers.
Born in Kosovo, Stevic is a member of the Socialist Party, part of the governing coalition. The 65-year-old deputy sheriff announced his resignation after the video went viral on social media.
Kosovo, a former province of Serbia, unilaterally declared independence in 2008, ten years after the war between Serbian troops and Albanian rebels. The two countries are under pressure from the West to reach an agreement that normalizes their relations.
