The Ukrainian president urged the European Union (EU) on Thursday to include the “drones and missile industry” in the sanctions against Russia and will insist with each member state on the need to send combat aircraft.
“It is in everyone’s interest, not only the Ukrainians, that Russia does not manage to produce more missiles to attack our cities,” said Volodymyr Zelensky, during a joint press conference with the president of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, and the President of the European Council, Charles Michel, in Brussels (Belgium).
Therefore, Zelensky urged the 27 to include in the next package “sanctions against the ‘drone’ and missile industry,” as well as “technological support that is supporting Russian terror.”
An EU decision on the matter “will reduce the destruction and eliminate the source of dangerous attacks” carried out by Moscow, he argued.
