The prime minister made available to the Ukrainian President this Wednesday in Brussels the Portuguese diplomatic network, namely in Africa and Latin America, for logistical support for diplomatic actions in Kiev, according to official source.
In addition to making available the network of embassies and consulates for logistical support of diplomatic actions that Ukraine wants to develop, António Costa Volodymyr Zelensky also ensured the Portuguese contribution in three areas: food security, energy security and the fight against ecocide, which is, the destruction of natural resources, and has expressed its willingness to participate in the peace formula drawn up by Kiev.
During the meeting with Zelensky, in the fourth round of multilateral meetings on the margins of the European Council meeting, the Portuguese Prime Minister, according to the same source, considered it “essential to prevent unwanted side effects of sanctions, such as food security”.
Regarding the enlargement of the European Union to Ukraine, António Costa said that Lisbon is “available to continue to support”, stressing that the homework is not only on Kiev’s side, but that the EU must also prepare “for institutional level and budget”. .
