Last week, the @CA_DMV granted us a permit to let our robotaxi drive autonomously on public roads. This weekend we’re going on the road! It was the first time in history that a purpose-built robotaxi – without manual controls – drove autonomously on public roads https://t.co/EzkpDKOK7G… https://t.co/Th0lHRL5uD pic.twitter.com/8merkrp5VE

Zoox made history! Over the weekend, Jesse and I took the first autonomous ride in our custom-built robotaxi on public roads. This is a great milestone for @zoox and the AV industry as a whole. It is a testament to our vision and commitment, https://t.co/Kx4RtMoEvC… https://t.co/sgFQg7IrNm pic.twitter.com/Pi62RnrCqx

Technological advances are limited, with passengers on the bus who are employees of the group transported free of charge, and the bus authorized by authorities to operate a 1.6-kilometer route between two buildings of its headquarters in Foster City, California, USA.
Other companies, such as Waymo, a subsidiary of Alphabet, or Cruise, a subsidiary of General Motors, already use driverless cars in limited areas, although they always have the driver’s seat, steering wheel, and pedal just in case a human has need, take control.
