Massive fire breaks out in skyscrapers in southern China

A fire reached a skyscraper of the China Telecom company in the city of Changsha, in Hunan province, in southern China, but so far there are no reports of fatalities, according to local media.

Images broadcast by state television CCTV show how the fire reaches the office building, more than 200 meters high, causing damage to at least a dozen floors.

The fire caused a thick column of smoke that spread throughout the city, although firefighters managed to contain it, with no deaths recorded so far.

Local media released images of the building’s completely charred exterior and CCTV video shows flames consuming part of the skyscraper, as a dense plume of smoke rises over the city of some 10 million people.

Images posted on social media show the size of the flames.
