Germany says if Ukrainians surrender “there will be no international peace order”

German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock warned this Saturday during the Munich Security Conference that if Ukraine surrenders to Russia it will cease to exist as a country and there will no longer be an international peace order.

“At this Munich Security Conference nothing is like last year. It was a year of horror, but also of great unity. We share with our international partners the conviction that the war must end now, but not with an imposed peace”, he affirmed.

“What was valid a year ago is still valid: if Russia stops fighting, there will be no more war; if Ukraine stops fighting, there will be no more Ukraine and there will be no international peace order,” he added.

Likewise, the minister called on the world to oppose Russian aggression with one voice.

“We also work so that crimes of aggression do not go unpunished,” he said.

Baerbock also recalled that “Putin’s war made the world more insecure” and had global repercussions for food security, energy security and is a threat to international law.

The war launched on February 24, 2022 by Russian President Vladimir Putin against Ukraine has left 40% of the population in need of assistance as international agencies and non-governmental organizations rush to provide aid without any hope of political resolution. .
