German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said on Thursday that Germany and other partners were in talks with kyiv about “future security commitments” for Ukraine.
Scholz referred to “talks” with Kiev about “future commitments” on “security” issues, but did not specify or detail the plan, after having criticized the Russian head of state for military aggression on Ukrainian territory.
“be [Vladimir] Putin ready to negotiate a return to principles and a just peace? At the moment, there is no indication of that,” Sholz told the German Parliament (Bundestag) in Berlin, criticizing Moscow’s threatening acts, such as the suspension of the Novo Start agreement.
Last week, Russia suspended the agreement (Novo Start) on arms proliferation that was still in force with the United States.
In the same speech, the German chancellor also called on the PRC not to supply weapons “to the Russian aggressor.”
“My message is clear: use your influence to demand that Moscow withdraw Russian troops. Do not supply the Russian aggressor with weapons,” Scholz told the Bundestag.
