Kremlin spokesman Dmitri Peskov warned this Friday that new Western military supplies “will only suffice” to prolong the conflict in Ukraine, responding to the meeting in Washington between Joe Biden and Olaf Scholz.
“We note that the United States is enforcing policies aimed at increasing arms supplies to Ukraine by persuading its protégés to do the same”the Kremlin spokesman said.
Dmitri Peskov answered questions about the meeting in the US capital between the head of state Joe Biden and German chancellor Olaf Scholz.
This delivery “will not decisively affect the problems of the offensive (in Ukraine), but it is clear that it will prolong the conflict with sad consequences for the Ukrainian people,” Peskov added.
Support, in terms of armaments, “is a great burden on the economies of these countries and has a negative effect on the well-being of citizens, especially in Germany,” the spokesman for the Russian presidency added.
Joe Biden met with the German Chancellor in Washington this Friday and also showed a “message of unity”.
According to a spokesman for the German chancellor, the meeting in Washington was aimed at “reaching consensus on the developments in the conflict in Ukraine”, discussing the support that Kiev’s allies could take.
Western countries are already supporting Kiev militarily in light of the new Russian offensive launched in February last year.
