At least 13 people, including an eight-month-old baby, have been killed after a Russian attack on a residential building in the Ukrainian city of Zaporijia, in southern Ukraine, according to the region’s Emergencies Department.
“From the rubble of the building, specialists from the State Emergency Services recovered 13 bodies, including an eight-month-old baby,” the institution said in the Telegram messaging system and quoted by the Efe news agency.
Authorities also claim to have rescued alive 11 residents, three cats and a dog from the five-story residential building that was partially destroyed by a Russian missile in the early hours of March 2.
Municipal services cleared more than 893 tons of rubble and psychologists from the emergency services provided assistance to about 100 people, including residents of the building and relatives of the victims.
Seven people were hospitalized as a result of the attack, two of them in serious condition, according to the governor of Zaporijia, also quoted by Efe.
