The French Senate, with a right-wing majority, adopted on Thursday a compromise text on the pension reform in France, which ratifies the increase in the retirement age to 64 years.
The text was approved by 193 votes against 114, at the end of a 75-minute session, according to the French news agency AFP.
The pension reform, proposed by President Emmanuel Macron, has been challenged by strikes and demonstrations across France.
