Three people were killed during demonstrations in Iranian Kurdistan protesting the death of a young woman after her arrest by the morality police, the governor of the province announced on Tuesday.
Ismail Zarei Koosha spoke of three “suspicious” deaths and an “enemy conspiracy,” saying one of the victims was killed with a type of weapon not used by Iranian security forces, an Iranian news agency reported.

Demonstrations erupted in Tehran and Iraqi Kurdistan on Sunday after Mahsa Amini’s death was announced on Friday.
The 22-year-old Iranian had slipped into a coma after being arrested by the police unit responsible for enforcing the Islamic Republic’s dress code for women, including wearing headscarves in public.
