“A Night of Russian Terror”. This is how Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky described the attack on the Kiev region in the early hours of Wednesday.

In the message, the Ukrainian president refers to Tuesday’s meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping in Moscow, where Beijing’s peace plan for the conflict in Ukraine was discussed. “Every time someone in Moscow tries to hear the word ‘peace’ they issue a different order for these criminal attacks”he declared.
“The success of Ukrainian forces on land, air and sea really brings peace closer,” Zelensk added, arguing that “full compliance with the sanctions regime against Russia will undermine the strength of the UN Charter and global stability.” recovers.”

US Ambassador to Ukraine Bridget A. Brink also responded to the attack “against civilians” in the Kiev region, also citing the meeting between Putin and Xi Jinping.
“After all the talk in Moscow yesterday, more Russian missiles and more drone strikes on civilians throughout the night make it perfectly clear that President Putin is interested in a just peace or an end to the war he started.” wrote on the social network Twitter.

Since Russia regularly carries out drone and missile strikes against Ukraine’s electrical system and other critical infrastructure, Kiev authorities have been able to improve anti-aircraft systems, partly thanks to the provision of Western military equipment.
For its part, the Russian Navy repelled a drone strike that claimed no casualties in the port of Sevastopol, in Crimea, the Ukrainian peninsula annexed by Moscow, the city’s governor announced.
