UN inspectors prove that there is lost uranium in Libya

A group of researchers has confirmed that the missing uranium is in Libya. On a visit to the south of the Maghreb country, inspectors confirmed the presence of natural uranium containers that had been reported missing and were later detected by military forces, reveals the United Nations nuclear agency.

The International Atomic Energy Agency reported that UN inspectors visited the area on Tuesday and confirmed the presence of natural uranium, although they admit that a “relatively small amount” had not yet been accounted for.

However, they added that there is no immediate risk of radiation at the site and that the director general, Rafael Mariano Grossi, already informed the member states of this finding on Friday.
