NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said on Friday that Finland will formally join the Atlantic Alliance within days, congratulating himself on removing the last obstacle to membership.
“I look forward to flying the Finnish flag at NATO Headquarters in the coming days. Together we are stronger and safer,” Stoltenberg wrote on Twitter.

After months of delays, Turkey’s parliament on Thursday removed the last obstacle preventing Finland from joining the US-led military alliance by ratifying its application for membership.
Stoltenberg said so “Finland has highly skilled military forces, advanced capabilities and strong democratic institutions.” “Finland will therefore mean a lot to our alliance,” considered.
NATO foreign ministers will meet next week at the headquarters of the Atlantic Alliance in Brussels, when membership is expected to be formalised.
Last year’s Russian invasion of Ukraine rocked European security and prompted Finland, as well as neighboring Sweden, to abandon decades of non-alignment and want to join NATO.
Stockholm’s request stands, but there are no developments in this process due to continued resistance from Turkey and Hungary. But Stoltenberg insisted that “all allies agree that Sweden’s ratification process will be completed quickly
It will be in everyone’s best interest.”
“I look forward to welcoming Sweden as a full member of the NATO family as soon as possible,” he said..
