The French services rescued this Thursday in the English Channel, in different operations, 41 migrants who were trying to reach the shores of England clandestinely.
The first took place in the morning, when the French Navy patrol boat Pluvier was in front of the port of Boulogne sur Mer and several people were seen in the water, the English Channel and Sea Maritime Authority said in a statement. from North.
The sailors boarded the Pluvier with 28 people and, to check that no one was left in the water, a helicopter flew over the area.
All the immigrants, whose nationality details were not given, were taken to the port of Boulogne sur Mer. Four people were in a state of hypothermia.
The second rescue, after receiving a warning about a ship in distress, was carried out by another French Navy ship, the Loire, which rescued 13 people and transferred them to the port of Calais, where they received medical assistance and were held by the Police. Air and Borders (PAF).
The Maritime Captaincy has recalled, in a statement, that the English Channel is a particularly dangerous maritime space for those who try to cross it, with intense traffic of commercial vessels (around 400 daily) and often difficult weather conditions, since there are 120 days a year. with force 7 winds.
