U.S. Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas has accepted several offers and benefits over the course of more than 20 years from a multimillionaire known for funding the Republican Party, according to a journalistic investigation released Thursday.
Mega yacht cruises and private jet flights were among those offerings, revealed by online research magazine ProPublica.
This title suggested that he interviewed “dozens of people” and consulted internal documents to prove that the magistrate had accepted those gifts from businessman Harlan Crow without declaring them.
The Fix The Court association called the revelations “astonishing” in a statement.

This isn’t the first time Thomas’s name has been associated with controversy. His wife, Ginni, a lobbyist and activist, was involved in Donald Trump’s campaign to prove — without success — that the 2021 presidential election was stolen from him.
When his messages, via text and email, were released, several personalities criticized the conflict of interest and argued that Thomas should refuse to make decisions about any election process.
ProPublica also indicated in its research that almost every year Clarence Thomas travels to the multimillionaire’s estate in the Adirondacks, New York, and accompanies him to the “Bohemian Grove,” California, an elite club exclusively for men and reserved for personalities from the political, artistic, media and business spheres.
