At least nine people are still missing after the collapse of a four-story building in the center of Marseille on Saturday night, French authorities said.
The collapse of the building due to an explosion occurred around 11:00 PM on Saturday (Lisbon time) in Rua Tivoli and in the fall it dragged part of the neighboring buildings with it, injuring five people.
In a balance sheet taken this afternoon, French authorities, quoted by the Europa news agency, say nine people are still missing.
According to the same source, the causes of the explosion and the resulting collapse are not yet known, adding that the experts have not yet gained access to the site, as the safety conditions have not yet been met.

Meanwhile, authorities have already evacuated 32 buildings and provided hospital assistance to 163 people, French Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin said.
“No one is at risk of dying. About 30 buildings were evacuated and flames remain alive under the rubble.” reported.
More than 100 firefighters remain on site.
In November 2018, eight people died when two dilapidated buildings collapsed in another part of this city (south), where 40,000 people live in slums, according to non-governmental organizations.
