Aevin Dugas, 47, has set a Guinness World Record for the tallest Afro in the world for the third time in 13 years.
The woman from Louisiana, in the United States, won her first record in 2010, with a hair circumference of about 132 centimeters. In 2021, however, he surpassed this milestone again by 157 centimeters.
The largest afro hair in the world – which is also 10 inches high and 10 inches wide – has taken about 24 years to grow and requires a lot of care with oils and frequent trimming to maintain the style.
In an interview with Guinness World Records, Aevin Dugas explains that he continues to break the record for showing off the beauty of his natural hair and admits that he gets a lot of backlash when he lets his hair down in public.
With record-breaking hair, Aevin says she likes how he helps her “become a big picture in a room full of people” and that “everyone is taking notice of her.” However, she doesn’t always wear her hair down, different styles as it becomes difficult to survive the high temperatures of southeastern Louisiana, which regularly soar above 32 degrees in the summer.
