Ukraine on Tuesday accused the Russian head of state of visiting places where crimes were committed after the Kremlin announced a surprise visit by Vladimir Putin to the occupied territories in the south and east of the country.
It was a “special trip” for the author of “mass killings” in the occupied territories to enjoy the “crimes” committed by Russian troops, said Mykailo Podoliak, an adviser to the president of Ukraine.
Podoliak’s accusation was published through the social network Twitter.
Russian President Vladimir Putin traveled to the Kherson and Lugansk regions of southern and eastern Ukraine to meet with soldiers deployed in the Russian invasion that began more than a year ago, the Kremlin announced Tuesday morning .
The Kremlin statement did not specify when the trip took place, but added that the Russian president congratulated the military personnel who are in the Kherson and Lugansk regions on the occasion of the Orthodox Easter holiday, which was celebrated on Sunday.
