Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky this Wednesday visited the Volhynia region, located in the far northwest of the country and bordering Belarus and Poland, as announced on social networks.
“Volhynia. The border of Ukraine with Belarus and Poland. It is an honor for me to be here this Wednesday to thank our border guards for protecting the state border,” Zelensky said in Telegram, quoted by the Spanish agency EFE .
Zelensky also acknowledged the work of border guards in the defense of the Ukrainian city of Bakhmut, in the east of the country, where they are also deployed.
The statement is illustrated with a video showing Zelensky walking along a portion of the border marked by a wire fence.
Images also show how Zelensky seduces Ukrainian border guards.
During the visit, Zelensky discussed the economic, social and security situation in this part of Ukraine, which Kiev says it must protect against the threat posed by the presence of Russian troops on Belarusian territory.
Zelensky was informed about the preparation and the status of the military units involved in this task, according to another official message published on the Telegram social network.
The Ukrainian president on Tuesday visited the town of Avdiivka, near Donetsk, one of the hottest spots on the eastern front of Ukraine’s war begun by Russia on February 24, 2022.
The war against Ukraine plunged Europe into what is considered the most serious security crisis since World War II (1939-1945).
The number of civilian and military casualties is unknown, but several sources, including the UN, say it will be very high.
