A bright light appeared in the sky over kyiv, but this time it was not a Russian missile. City officials claim this light was due to “a NASA satellite accident.”
“Around 10:00 p.m. [19h00 em Portugal continental] on April 19, the bright glow of an aerial object was observed in the sky over kyiv,” described the head of the city’s military administration, Sergiy Popko, on Telegram.
The explanation came later: “According to preliminary information, this phenomenon was the result of the collision of a NASA space satellite on Earth.”
According to an Agence France-Presse journalist who witnessed the phenomenon, the lightning was not followed by any noise.
An air raid alert was activated, Popko said, but “the air defense was not working.”
Soon after, the Ukrainian Air Force also said the light was “related to a satellite/meteorite accident.”
He added, however, that this was “to be clarified.”
