A 6.3-magnitude earthquake struck the northern Ishikawa region of central Japan on Friday, the national weather agency said.
Authorities did not issue a tsunami warning.
The earthquake occurred at 2:42 p.m. (6:42 a.m. in Lisbon) at a depth of 10 kilometers, the same agency reported.
According to the AFP agency, trains are suspended between the cities of Nagano and Kanazawa.
